Danfoss is a Danish technology company headquartered in Nordborg. The engineer Mads Clausen founded it in 1933 in his parents' house, initially as Dansk Køleautomatik- og Apparatfabrik; it has carried its present name since 1946 and still belongs to the founding family.
Danfoss technology sits inside refrigeration and air conditioning, in heating and district heating systems, in drives, valves and hydraulics for industry, agriculture, construction and shipping, and in applications around renewable energy and electric mobility.
