GeneratorGenerator runs hostels in central locations across European cities – among them Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Barcelona and Venice. The brand started in London in 1995.

The houses mix dormitories and private rooms and combine them with a bar, café, workspaces and event areas. That places them between the classic hostel and a hotel. In the United States the Freehand brand belongs to the group.
